Happy New Year! Yes I know it’s now the 6th but I’ve been enjoying a much-needed break. I’d let the world of social media excessively consume my spare time towards the end of last year, therefore, I decided to have a bit of an offline detox over the holidays. But I’m back and I thought I’d kick things off with a classic “What I got for Christmas” post because several of you on Instagram told me that you’d like to see my prezzies.
Now first a little disclaimer: I have a big family and therefore I was lucky enough to receive several beautiful gifts. I’m not going to feature every present here but I just wanted to share a few of my favourite things! I’m incredibly thankful for every single item I received and I enjoyed watching my loved ones open the gifts I’d got them even more. Anywho that’s enough babbling let’s get to the good stuff!
Firstly from the love of my life and my go-to-tech-guy Tom, I received a pair of aHead Kreafunk headphones. Not only are they wireless and super practical for my commute they are also PINK so I a very happy bunny. I’ve used them almost every day since so I was a very happy bunny when I opened them. He also got me a beautifully illustrated copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone which as a Potterhead (I mean did you read about me squealing at Cursed Child) was incredibly thoughtful.
From my Grandparents I received two beautiful Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, in English Beauty and Walk of Shame. I have to admit I haven’t tried them yet because I need to take more photos (forever #doingitforthegram) but I am a loyal lover of Pillow Talk and I am so excited to have expanded my collection because I adore the Charlotte Tilbury formula and don’t even get me started on the packaging!
From my Dad and Helen (my step-mum) I received some Zoeva brushes from the Rose Gold Vol.2 collection. These were Christmas list picks to complement the set from Zoeva I already had. I opted for the Luxe Highlight-105, as I’m a self-confessed highlight addict. The eye brushes (Luxe Crease- 228 and Luxe Eye Blender- 225) are for stepping up my blending game because let’s face I NEVER have a clean blending brush to hand! I thought I’d try the Face Shape-110 for cream contour. Last but certainly not least I received the Silk Finish-102 I have wanted this brush for years and it certainly is NOT a letdown, I’ve used it for my foundation every day since I’m in love.
They also bought my these beautiful Ted Baker Soap Petals as an additional surprise gift which will be a lovely addition to my baths and my flatlays!
A few of my other notably pink gifts included these beautiful bed socks from TU clothing which are the cosiest thing in the world (and I love them even if they do leave pink fluff balls everywhere). A snow fairy gift set from Lush from my godparents which I cannot wait to use once our bathroom renovation is completed. My favourite hand cream from Body Shop, in the frosted berries scent which is the only hand-cream I have ever finished multiple tubes of! Finally, an honourable mention to the light-up rose gold mirror from No.7 at Boots, which I purchased in the Boxing Day sales using some of my Christmas money!
Finally, Tom’s parents very generously treated me to this beautiful pink bag from Ted Baker. As per usual with Ted Baker the rose gold hardware absolutely sparkles and I’ve used this bag non-stop since Christmas! They don’t actually have this version in stock anymore but there is a mini version on sale for under £65 here. A lot of what I received this year was based on a wishlist I had made but this present was a complete surprise and I really love it.
What was your favourite gift you received and gave this Christmas? One of my gifts to Tom was a DSLR photography course I’d purchased it in the Black Friday sales as was really worried about whether he’d like it (in case he thought I was insulting his photography). Luckily he was really excited to learn to use his camera better and hey if my regular outfit photos suddenly improve now you’ll know why!
